How to Get a USA Nanny Visa from UAE

There is No Dedicated US Nanny Visa

Many domestic workers in the UAE assume there is a special visa category for nannies travelling to the United States. In reality, the US does not issue a stand-alone nanny visa. Nannies enter under the B-1 domestic employee category attached to their employer's visa or status.

Who Can Sponsor You

Your employer must be a US citizen living abroad temporarily, a non-immigrant visa holder (such as B, E, F, H, I, J, L, M, O, P, or Q) traveling to the US, or a US lawful permanent resident with proof of a domicile abroad.

The employer needs to demonstrate continued residence outside the US and that they will provide round-trip transportation, fair wages, and proper working conditions.

Required Documents

You will need an employment contract signed by both parties, proof of at least one year of prior employment with the family, the employer's US visa or passport, a valid UAE residence permit, and a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.

Application Steps

Complete the DS-160 form, pay the visa fee, book an interview at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi or Consulate in Dubai, and attend with full documentation. The employer often attends the interview alongside the nanny to confirm the working relationship.
